FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What do you do?
A: Eyaa-Keen provides Aboriginal Traditional based trauma treatment and psychological rehabilitation. Programs and services are intensive and multi-disciplinary, focusing on the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well-being of Aboriginal adults.

Q: How do your programs work?
A: Eyaa-Keen addresses the needs of Aboriginal adults seeking new ways, behaviours and disciplines in order to become better parents, workers, leaders and mentors within their family, community, and society. Through healing tools incorporated into daily living, participants learn to "clear" and "release" barriers that hold them back from living their lives in a healthy and good way.

Q: Where do your programs take place?
A: Eyaa-Keen has spacious and comfortable meeting space in their downtown Winnipeg offices, where individual and group sessions take place. They also offer multi-day 'residential' programs outside of Winnipeg, in rural locations conducive to comfort and healing, where participants reside on-site during the program delivery.

Q: What is the cost for a session?
A: Costs per session depends on many factors - how long the session is, whether it is an individual or group session, and whether it takes place inside or outside Winnipeg. In addition, subsidy may be available for qualifying participants, which can substantially reduce costs. The best thing to do is call Eyaa-Keen to learn about the programs, discuss your situation, and find out what the costs will be for you to attend.

Q: Can my kids come?
A: Eyaa-Keen's programs are intended only for Aboriginal adults over the age of 24, so children are not allowed to directly participate. However, your children will benefit greatly by your participation, as you will become a healthier and happier parent, instilling strength into your children, and teaching them by example.

Q: Can my husband/wife/partner come?
A: If your partner meets the criteria for intake, then yes, they may attend as a participant. If they do not wish to participate,
your relationship will benefit greatly by your participation

If you require further clarification on the above questions, or have specific questions that are not listed here, please phone Eyaa-Keen Centre. All inquiries are dealt with in a confidential manner.
