PROGRAMS & SERVICES

Eyaa-Keen's success is based on the fact that all people inherently have the skills and abilities within to "connect" their mental, emotional, physical and spiritual selves with the world around them. The programs and services provide an opportunity for individuals to participate in activities that bring out this natural part of them. As one releases emotional, physical, mental and spiritual pain, they more fully develop and strengthen their abilities to lead their own lives in healthier ways.

Eyaa-Keen Centre focuses on integrated physical, emotional, mental and spiritual treatment. Participants learn to "clear" and "release" barriers that hold them back from living life in healthy and good ways. Healing tools are provided for each to incorporate into his/her daily life, allowing healing and development to occur at the participant's pace, and in a kind and gentle manner.

TREATMENT SESSIONS

Skilled and trained Behavioural Health Specialists host three, five, and ten-day treatment sessions that focus on spiritual, mental, emotional and physical healing and development for Aboriginal adults who wish to change their lives. When they participate fully in the treatment sessions, people who experience barriers in their lives begin to address underlying core issues, and learn how to heal themselves using individually designed treatment plans.

Eyaa-Keen's treatment sessions address a variety of needs including situational stressors, family relations, interpersonal relationships, employee personnel concerns, mental health issues, life span issues, sexuality issues, and underlying issues of addictions. As well, sessions address the needs of survivors of residential schools (and their descendents), victims of historical trauma, abuse, domestic violence, and survivors of a loved one's suicide, sudden accidental death, or other traumas and losses.

Through these treatment sessions, participants are trained to be more "conscious" and aware of the present. This awareness allows individuals to safely become increasingly cognizant of what is and what is not working in their lives, and focus on life aspects that require further work. Through this process, participants become progressively happier, freer, more peaceful, more powerful, and more themselves. Their gifts and abilities naturally present themselves, and allow them to lead productive, healthy lives.

When an adult caregiver participates in Eyaa-Keen's treatment sessions and uses the tools provided, they heal their "issues" and core pain, and their children, siblings, parents, grandparents, friends, and community naturally receive benefits. This causes a healing "ripple effect" that can heal and change communities in a powerful way.
